AstraZeneca has an opportunity for an Supply Chain Forecasting Analyst to join the Treasury Front Office team as part of the wider Group Treasury function based in our Warsaw office. Working within a collaborative team you will be responsible for forecasting the Group intercompany Foreign Exchange (FX) exposures across multiple currencies and territories, with annual exposures of c.$24bn.

The role requires an individual to have a good attention to detail, communication skills and overall knowledge of supply chains and systems.

The Group Treasury team is currently made up of 19 individuals, supporting the AstraZeneca Group on all Treasury matters.  The role and current size of the core Treasury team provides an excellent opportunity to directly contribute to the Treasury function of a global FTSE 10 company. 

Group Treasury has recently won two Team of the Year awards, presented by both the ACT and Treasury Today.

Role and Key Responsibilities

  • Using the Oracle application, deliver and continue to develop the requirements of the monthly FX Forecasting cycle for relevant intercompany markets, equivalent to c.$24bn of FX exposure per annum
  • Utilising your existing supply chain knowledge, continuously validate the monthly forecasts and understand the impact of intercompany order amendments on Group Treasury hedges, making proposals to amend where appropriate
  • Prepare and present the monthly FX forecast sign off meeting to Group Treasurer and SVP Global Finance
  • Manage relationships with key Global Supply Chain (GSC) colleagues across the globe, scheduling meetings and regular discussions to aid the forecasting and variance processes
  • Design and facilitate the continuous improvement approach that refines both the process and FX Forecasting tool
  • Present dashboards and summaries of progress to a variety of audiences including GSC, tax and Finance colleagues, highlighting successes, and trends for action and improvement
  • Collaborate with Group Tax and other project teams in order to maintain forecast data and understand changes to key AZ systems which may impact FX forecasting process
  • Assist the Treasury Manager with the production of monthly and quarterly reporting to Group CFO and SVP GSC
  • Increase Group knowledge and understanding of the financial impacts of intercompany trade through the FX Process Network and other presentations
  • Provide support on ad-hoc treasury FX hedging projects and initiatives

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in a global company with colleagues in multiple countries
  • Experience performing monthly financial processes
  • Experienced user of SAP ECC (or equivalent system)
  • Experience with supply chains
  • Ability to investigate data anomalies or patterns by reviewing source data in SAP ECC
  • Ability to build the understanding and confidence of market and supply chain colleagues in the process
  • Knowledge of intercompany trading practices (Sales Order-Purchase Order, Stock Transfer Order, Tolling etc)
  • Strong Excel skills and comfortable with basic statistical and financial analysis
  • Ability to engage with colleagues on a global basis (manufacturing hubs in UK and Sweden, with distribution centres and marketing companies worldwide – particular focus on Japan, China, Australia and US)
