At AstraZeneca's Operations division, we have a big ambition: to deliver more medicines to patients, quicker and more affordably. Our new Drug Product manufacturing facility, Sweden Biomanufacturing Center (SBC), supports our biologic commercial and clinical pipeline, including being the primary launch site for biologics. We're looking for a Senior Packaging Engineer to join us on this exciting journey.

Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) is the bridge that turns brilliant science into actual medicines that help millions of people. The MS&T function ensures reliable and flexible formulation, filling, device assembly and packaging of late stage clinical and commercial products being transferred to SBC. We also provide expert technical support and life-cycle management to AstraZeneca’s commercial biologic drug products.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will serve as the Packaging Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Technology Transfers, Design Transfers, and Investment/Improvement Projects. You will lead or participate as a Packaging SME in risk assessments, change controls, and deviation investigations in collaboration with external and internal customers and suppliers. Additionally, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing global standards for SBC’s packaging formats.

Essential requirements for this role include:

  • Experience from commercial packaging processes including Design Transfer/Technology Transfer and packaging process control strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Structured and excellent in technical writing.
  • MSc degree or equivalent.

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience from working in a cGMP environment.
  • Equipment Qualification, Process Validation, and/or Shipping Validation Experience.
  • Interest in statistics and tools for data analysis and Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Worked in a LEAN environment.
