Your Mission

Step into a pivotal role as Associate Director, Data Science & Advanced Analytics at Alexion, driving analytics innovation for our Rare Disease Unit. Deliver impactful data science solutions to improve patient care and address challenging business needs. Enhance disease insights and HCP lead generation in collaboration with key commercial teams. Your expertise will shape our strategic analytics direction and directly contribute to our growth. Report to the Director of Data Science and Advanced Analytics Lead in this crucial, high-impact role.    

Your Role

  • Complex Data Science Solutions: Drive the delivery of complex data science solutions that provide significant value and insights for the Commercial Organization.
  • Analytical Model Deployment: Develop and deploy advanced statistical and machine learning models to enhance marketing strategies and optimize business growth.
  • Data-Driven Business Solutions: Identify and leverage data to drive business solutions and advance analytics capabilities within the commercial sector.
  • Customer-Centric Analytics: Utilize diverse data types to build models that improve customer engagement and experience.
  • Innovative Predictive Modeling: Use predictive modeling to enhance customer experiences, revenue generation, and business outcomes.
  • Team Development: Help build and lead a team of data scientists to bolster in-house advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify best practices and drive value through data science.

Your Expertise

  • Relevant Experience: At least 5 years of experience in statistical and predictive modeling within healthcare, consulting, or biopharmaceuticals.
  • Quantitative Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative field with a strong foundation in statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced experience with analytic tools/languages such as R, Python, and SQL.
  • Machine Learning Expertise: Proven ability to create insights from machine learning models and complex data sets.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex quantitative methods and results clearly.
  • Data Visualization: Skilled at data visualization and interpretation to inform business decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with Hive, Spark, Scala, HDFS, and integrating these with Python/R.
  • CRM and Data Governance: Working knowledge of Salesforce/Veeva CRM and data governance principles.
  • Visualization Tools: Experience with Tableau, Qlik Sense, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools
