Introduction to Role:

Reporting to the Data Governance and Assurance Lead within the GBS Data Office (GDO), you will play a key role in enabling our vision of a data-led culture. This role will be focused on the Commercial data domain, where the remit will cover data related to sales, marketing, medical, market access and related business activities.

Accountabilities:

As a Data Governance Lead, you will play a key role in enabling our vision of a data-led culture, enabling actionable insights, better business decisions, and operational excellence through trusted and accessible data. This role will be focused on the Commercial data domain, where the remit will cover data related to sales, marketing, medical, market access, and related business activities. You will work closely with data stewards, data owners, design leads, and data management teams to ensure that the necessary responsibilities, standards, and practices are in place to ensure that our data remains high quality, accessible, standardized, and protected.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a senior data office, data governance or data management role
  • Strong knowledge of data management and data governance principles
  • Experience of designing and/or implementing data policies and standards, and measuring adherence
  • Experience of data quality definition, monitoring and remediation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills
  • Experience of maintaining information and documentation using collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience of implementing data governance tools, glossaries, data dictionaries, data catalogues (e.g., Talend, Collibra)
  • Knowledge of user access and security principles
  • Knowledge of privacy principles and regulation (e.g., GDPR)
  • Knowledge of ethical and regulatory risks in relation to AI
  • Knowledge of risk management principles
  • Experience of working in a complex global organisation
  • Experience of working with corporate finance, customer, vendor or healthcare data
  • Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge
