Head of Centre for Oncology Data Excellence

As the Head of Centre for Oncology Data Excellence, you will lead a team focused on delivering best-in-class scientifically rigorous research to support the Evidence Generation organization. You will be part of the fastest growing team within AstraZeneca and across the industry, with countless new indications and targets in our game-changing pipeline.

Accountabilities:
You will be responsible for identifying data needs across the Global Medical Oncology Portfolio, building the scientific/data narrative of the data value proposition, and developing global cross brand/asset data strategies. You will also lead on the development of data strategy business cases, lead the Centre for Oncology Data Excellence, and engage with multiple stakeholders to provide data and statistical insights and analysis.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 10 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry with MS degree or doctoral degree (PharmD, PhD, MD)  in epidemiology, outcomes research, statistics and/or related disciplines.
- Recognised as a subject matter expert with deep technical expertise with research methods for real world research, epidemiology, HEOR projects.
- Able to evaluate, interpret and present highly complex data for a series of studies (prospective and retrospective).
- Scientific and business expertise in oncology with a strong understanding of key global and regional issues and concerns.
- Significant understanding of research methodologies and statistics.
- Proven ability with a track record of success in developing and leading teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- PhD in scientific discipline
- Expert reputation within the business and industry
- Extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory expectations 
- Operational expertise in risk management and contingency planning
- Familiarity with the latest research and thinking
- Effective problem and conflict resolution skills and proven team focus
