The Associate Director, Global Supply Chain & Strategy is a critical role that will be responsible for the development of insights and recommendations across Global Supply Chain & Strategy that will ensure that we provide best in class services and continuity of supply to customers and patients while also ensuring we achieve our long-term aspirations of being the #1 rare disease company globally. The successful candidate will work closely with senior supply chain and cross functional unit leaders to identify, evaluate, and accelerate strategies for growth.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead analysis and management of projects workstreams to support Alexion Operations long term strategy – Accelerate to 2030
  • Global Supply Chain & Strategy lead for one of strategic initiatives associated with Accelerate to 2030 and/or Global Supply Chain & Strategy key priorities
  • Support the governance and refresh of Alexion Operations long term strategy
  • Proactively identify changes in internal and external business conditions which will impact upon the end-to-end supply chain and quickly ensure that required changes are put in place.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure that the Business Strategy team is enabling the business while operating to the highest standards of compliance and integrity.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of risk management strategies for the company’s Global Supply Chain, including product supply and vendor performance
  • Influence supply decision making for commercial, clinical, and business development assets

Required Experience / Qualifications

  • Prior pharmaceutical experience & 10 plus years’ experience in global supply chain essential
  • Prior small molecule and device experience preferred
  • High intellectual curiosity, superior organisational, communications, presentation, structured thinking, and analytical skills 
  • Communication & Management skills with the ability to gain credibility with senior leaders while challenging the status quo
  • Experience with data driven analysis, such as concept design, business plan development that leads to decision execution 
  • A strong work ethic and a proven ability to be a leader in cross functional areas
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Passionate, innovative, best practice focus to deliver best in class service to our patients.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to effective lead and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of quality and regulatory issues as they relate to biotechnology supply chain
  • Experience leading and participating in technical and cross-functional team is required.
  • BA/BS Degree & additional post graduate qualification.
