What you'll do

As a Sales Representative with us, you’ll sell life-changing medicines within one of four therapeutic areas: Oncology, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic, and other diseases. Using your exceptional selling skills and personable attitude, you’ll build strong and strategic partnerships with healthcare providers across your territory – from clinicians and pharmacists to nurses and consultants.

The part you play in our business will be challenging, yet rewarding, requiring you to use your resilient, collaborative and diplomatic skillsets to make connections. The majority of your work will be field based, and will require you to be highly-organised, planning your monthly schedule, attending meetings and calls, as well as writing up reports.

Being on the road, you’ll be able to manage your own time, working around your various tasks. For this, you’ll need to be flexible in the way you work with the ability to adapt to and take advantage of opportunities as they arise.

This is a heavily-regulated industry, so working within it means taking responsibility and being particularly observant when selling our products. This means managing your work and territory with diplomacy and in a way that is compliant.

Secondary Care Account Specialist

Join us at AstraZeneca as a Secondary Care Account Specialist and be part of changing the practice of medicine forever. In this role, you will sell AstraZeneca brands to healthcare professionals across key secondary care customers, maximising opportunities for practice change at scale. You will be responsible for engaging with key hospital stakeholders to expand sales volume and share. Working with the wider team, you will generate customer insights, shaping the account plans to increase the number of patients on AZ brands.

Accountabilities:

As a Secondary Care Account Specialist, you will be accountable for delivering and exceeding sales targets for allocated brands. You will be responsible for effective territory management, understanding local NHS priorities to develop and implement effective call plans. You will also manage budgets within +/- 3% and ensure compliance of all AZ Governance frameworks, SOPs and the ABPI.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Successful sales experience, including primary and secondary both F2F and via virtual platforms
  • Experience working within the therapy area of responsibility - CVRM / Diabetes
  • Strong Account Management skills
  • Qualified to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent
  • Full driving licence
  • ABPI qualified (unless new to the representative role)
  • Speaking publicly with strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (both with customers and colleagues)
  • Strong NHS knowledge and understanding
  • Strong results focus
  • Shows initiative and is self-starting
  • High emotional intelligence proved through management of own attitude
  • Strong IT and analytical skills

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Market Access experience of gaining product position on guidelines
