Overview

In Spain, we employ over 740 people who are all excited about our mission. Our work here covers all of the core focus areas: Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM), Respiratory and Oncology. 

We have our headquarters in Madrid, a specialised respiratory medicine R&D and Global Marketing centre in Barcelona and sales teams across the country. Across each of these locations, we drive a high-performance culture that is both ethically and socially transparent. Join us and make the most of our science-focused approach.

Did you know? We held a total of 40 clinical trials in Spain in 2018, with over 2,800 patients, 327 research units and 1,000 medical professionals.

Madrid

Our Madrid headquarters is home to the many dedicated people that keep our country-wide operations running smoothly – HR, BU’s (Respiratory, Oncology & CVRM) Communications, Compliance, Legal, Finance & IT, Corporate Affairs, Market Access, Sales, AZ Foundation and Medical.

There are plenty of open work spaces to promote cross-functional working and collaboration, plus a wealth of on-site amenities that help to make us an award-winning place to work. Barcelona

In 2015, we opened a new respiratory medicine R&D and Global Marketing centre in Barcelona. This multidisciplinary workplace has highly specialised and talented professionals focused on the development of new medicines to address respiratory diseases globally. The environment

As a company we’re focused on improvement. That goes for the world around us too. We maintain a firm commitment towards the environment, and have reduced our carbon footprint by over 9,000 kg of CO2 over the last two years, through measures like reusing obsolete IT equipment and fitting lights with movement sensors. 

Moreover, we lead the European project EUGoGreen, which aims to introduce a wider range of environmentally-friendly options in our European fleet of corporate vehicles.
