Working as part of a central team of IT system professionals and analysts within a multinational organization. This role will report into the Global Factory Operations Americas Support Team Lead and will be fundamental in supporting Global Validation Lifecycle Management System (GVLMS) and other applications directly related to the AstraZeneca’s operations.

The main responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Ensure optimum performance and stability of the mission critical Global Validation Lifecycle Management System (ValGenesis™), including providing workarounds and identifying areas for improvement or solutions to permanently address the issue
  • Provide 2nd/3rd  line support (technical queries, bug fixes and small enhancements relating to application and platform), complying with AstraZeneca standards, change control procedures
  • Take ownership of issues through to delivery or issue resolution or escalation, as appropriate
  • Support development activities by helping in code build and deployment, tool configuration management and administration, application environment set up, change and release management
  • Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, documenting and sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams
  • Liaise with stakeholders on potential process improvements

Essential Experience: (Must have skills)

  • 2-3 years of prior experience in application support and maintenance (L2/L3 support)
    o    Basics of programming in any language; Basics of SQL 
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving capability
  • Good communication skills
  • Flair and commitment to learn a new technology / tool; Quick Learner
  • Should be ready to work in shifts
  • Should have experience in SaaS platforms
  • Understanding of incident, problem, change and release management process
  • Experienced on IT Service Management tools like ServiceNow, Remedy or Service Manager
  • Experience working with third party vendor applications
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups
  • Fluent English to constantly communicate with people from different countries across the globe

Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)

  • Development and troubleshooting experience on web applications built on the Microsoft .NET framework(ASP.NET, VB.NET) 
  • Experience with SQL (Preferably Oracle 11g)
  • Understanding of Apache or IIS/Web Services  (IIS 6.0, IIS 5.0)
  • Understanding of change and release management process
  • Experience working with third party vendor applications
  • Familiarity with life sciences(Pharma) domain concepts, workflow and terminology
  • Experience with Enterprise quality management software solutions
  • Experience in setting up and managing application environments
  • Mindset to support business critical applications
  • Must participate on call rotation with off hours support responsibilities

Educational Qualifications

UG - B.Tech /B.E. or other equivalent technical qualifications

MBA or Master Degree is a plus

ITIL Foundation certification is a plus
