The Sr. Director, Market Access Strategy - Respiratory directs a function dedicated to developing managed care strategies and promotional tactics. Leads team of Managed Markets brand managers and contract strategists. Responsible for providing payer acumen to brand teams in order to ensure customer and Managed Market view of brand strategy is represented. Works closely with Marketing, Sales, Medical, Regulatory, and Legal to deliver cost effective medicines

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing the patient journey from brand perspective, in order to identify new opportunities for services and programs
  • Effectively manages all aspects of the contract creation and implementation process, including resource allocation and management of internal and external customer expectations
  • Supports Market Access leader’s contributions to brand pricing / contracting strategy discussions during brand PSP (Payer Strategic Plan)
  • Leads a team a team focused on execution of negotiation and access activities
  • Provides guidance to account managers on issues related to brand strategy
  • Tailor brand value story for customer segments, in partnership with CSP segment strategy teams and customer teams
  • Serves as liaison between Market Access and the brand teams on brand-relevant programs/tactics geared toward payer and intermediary customers
  • Proactive internal consultant to brand teams, informing and influencing them on managed markets issues and helping to incorporate managed markets objectives into brand PSPs

Required Experiences

  • P&L experience including demonstrated understanding of Gross to Net implications within P&L and ability to manage /shape discussions and decisions
  • Experience translating broad customer perspective (multiple business segments, i.e., IDN, Payer, HCP, State Government) to HQ aligned partners across functions to inform, influence, and shape strategy
  • Proven track record of internal stakeholder enrollment and engagement of large organization cross-functions to deliver expected results
  • Commercial experience across all periods of a product’s life cycle, including growth, in-line, and mature brand LOE events
  • Ability to deliver significant impact on reimbursement, access & affordability opportunities and challenges, regardless of product life cycle phase
  • Demonstrated customer-facing leadership and capabilities, either Sales or Market Access 
  • Proven track record of attracting and growing talent
  • 15+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical market; preferably in Payer Marketing, Brand Marketing, Market Research, Account Management, and/or Field Sales, with both primary care and specialty care businesses
  • Experience in US Market Access landscape and the legal/regulatory environment for pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceuticals
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%)

Preferred

  • MBA in relevant field

  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of customer business model and needs
