The Global Medical Information Manager is a professional with scientific, clinical and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca’s marketed products, new indications for current products and compounds in development.  The Global Medical Information Manager is responsible for the execution of Global Medical Information brand/therapeutic area deliverables, including answering medical inquiries escalated from local markets, reviewing/providing scientific consult to Global Medical Affairs (GMA) materials, and development of scientific content to support GMA.  The Global Medical Information Manager supports the GMA Medical Content Plan and Medical Information deliverables to ensure timely access of approved medical materials that cover both the development of content as well as customer engagement activities.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Development, review and maintenance of GMA Medical content including standard responses, slide decks, training materials, FAQs and background documents
  • Incorporate customer insight and local market feedback into global medical content and materials
  • Coordinate with GMA, local markets/regions and external resources to develop global medical content
  • Coordinate with GMI Leadership to develop, manage and maintain processes and technologies that maximize effective and efficient delivery of global medical content
  • Development and review of global process, guidance, job aids, and related documents for Medical Information
  • Ensure compliance with global guidelines and policies, processes and procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred), Pharmacology, Science or equivalent
  • clinical experience
  • +4 years experience in pharmaceutical industry based Drug/Medical Information or equivalent industry experience, perferably in Medical Affairs
  • Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication and management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to apply regulatory and compliance requirements to Medical Affairs activities and drug information delivery
  • Understanding of the information needs for various customer segments
  • Strong collaboration skills

Preferred Background

  • Medical Affairs experience; Global medical experience is preferred; Therapeutic Area experience is preferred.
  • Clinical Pharmacy experience with patient care exposure
  • Drug Information Residency or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with Commercial or Brand Teams
  • Strong leadership ability

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience in drug information and creating medical content
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret clinical trial and published data.
  • Experience in medical writing and reviewing resources for medical accuracy and style.   
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines.
  • Ability to partner and manage external resources to support execution of deliverables
  • Attention to detail with excellent planning, time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex, evolving, global environment; ability to work and build effective relationships across functions and geographies
  • Highly developed literature search skills and experience in using literature searching tools
