AstraZeneca is currently looking for a Software Engineer to join our Science and Enabling Units IT Solution Delivery Team. This role requires someone that codes on a daily basis, is self-motivated, and has a passion for software development. We’ll rely on you to bring your technical acumen to help the team continue to deliver world class solutions for both our employees and our external constituents such as patients and doctors.

In this role you will be part of our global development team which is migrating to as close as we can to a true DevOps operating model. You will be given requirements that you are expected to understand, plan, develop, and thoroughly test before considering the work completed.  Deployments and infrastructure are handled by our team and you will likely need to be capable of handling doing deployments and preparing your work for the infrastructure requirements.

We are building a team that is accountable for its work.  This means that you and your teammates will be expected to support your work after it has been released to our customers.  You build it, you own it.

A Software Engineer is expected to have knowledge in developing, managing data, integrating with other systems, and learning new technology that enables the solution. It is not required that you have skills in all of the following technologies, but you may have to learn depending on the work you are given:

  • Spring Boot / Java
  • Responsive Web / HTML5
  • jQuery / Angular / JavaScript
  • CSS / SCSS
  • Activiti / Camunda / Flowable
  • AWS Technologies including EC2, EKS, S3, Route53, ELB, API Gateway, and others
  • MongoDB / Couchbase / Other NoSQL technologies
  • PostgreSQL
  • OAuth2
  • Jira / Confluence / Git
  • SnapLogic

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent degree is preferred but not required. We will hire self-taught engineers without a formal education given that you have evidence of rich history of software engineering.

Experience Requirements:

— Long history of enjoying problem solving and building things

— 3+ years of hands on software development experience
