The SeniorHR Solutions Partner will be the HR lead for the AstraZeneca site of 350+ team members located just outside of Boston in Waltham MA. The position will support the global HR business partners and HR Centres of Expertise (CoE) to deliver strong HR support for the leaders and employees at that site and for the larger Oncology R&D team. The HR Solutions Partner will report to an HR Solutions Manager that manages a team of HR Solution Partners across the world supporting the Oncology R&D business.

You will focus on diagnosis as well as design and delivery for senior leaders (VPs), people managers and team members across several research and development client groups and functional support organizations (finance, IT, etc). You will use your deep knowledge & experience to provide coaching, guidance & challenge to Line Managers on a range of people activities and display the necessary soft skills such as consulting, mentoring, resilience, facilitation, etc.

Main Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Primary HR partner for the Waltham Site and work with the larger HR team to support clients on global and cross-country teams.
  • Support the Oncology R&D HR VP with cross business projects liaising with COE’s (e.g. preparation of annual HR Business Review, performance management, succession planning, etc).
  • Ensure precise execution of key people processes across the business – leading and supporting HRBP’s with Performance Management, Reward, Employee Relations, change management, compensation and Workforce Planning processes.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with all levels of the organization (both globally and locally) and positively impact the key decisions.
  • Accountable for workforce plans for the Boston site and possibly for Oncology R&D business area.
  • Lead programmes to build capability in a business area.
  • Lead components of the new employee orientation at the site.
  • Lead on-site early career intern and entry-level development programs.
  • Lead talent planning and High Potential identification/development for client area or global business.
  • Provide strategic insight from data and information in support of the HR strategy for the Oncology R&D business and Boston site.
  • Responsible for the development of the people plan for client groups and ensuring on leadership team members are on track for HR/Engagement activities, talent reviews, etc.
  • Run change projects and lead small-scale business change (e.g. divestiture or acquisition integration).
  • Responsible for coordinating the employer branding for the site.
  • Partner with CoEs to support site or country level projects.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant HR experience.
  • HR degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of working globally in a business partnering role is desired.
  • Track record of proven business benefits / improvement delivered.
  • Demonstrate experience of managing or being part of an HR project/s through a complete project life-cycle.
  • Technical HR knowledge / skills associated one or more of the following disciplines - Resourcing, Performance & Reward, ER, L&D, organisational change.
  • Strong partner and influencing skills.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage demands.
  • Ability to utilize data analytics to inform people plans.
  • Business insight.
  • Leadership skills; ability to engage and inspire and bring people with them.
  • Demonstrates Soft skills; coaching, resilience, facilitation, collaborating.

Desirable requirements:

  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of HR systems (Workday, ServiceNow).
  • Experience in managing / interacting with sizeable internal customer base.
  • Previous global or international experience preferred.
  • General knowledge and understanding of AZ policies and procedures.
