AstraZeneca (AZ) has a bold aspiration to improve the lives of 200 million patients delivering 10 new medicines to patients by 2020. This role is critical in contributing to AZ’s long-term ambition. The major focus of the role is proactively monitoring and managing AstraZeneca’s risk exposure for customer facing digital assets (such as web sites, mobile apps and social media) in partnership with many key global functions and external vendors.

As the in-country Finance Business Partner, you will play a key local role, providing robust and insightful decision support to Business and Finance Management, to enable delivery of our financial objectives both operational and strategic.

The in-country Finance Business Partner pro-actively works with Management to identify business risks and opportunities, find pragmatic approaches to challenges, aiding implementation of solutions and best practices across local organizations. In support of Finance Management, the role ensures financial transparency and disclosure of risks. This role requires a good working knowledge of finance processes and procedures applicable to the whole Commercial business.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Financial periodic, annual and strategic plans related to legal entity
  • Drive P&L management with focus on accurate Sales Forecasting, cost control and resource allocation.
  • Run the Planning and Forecasting processes in coordination with key stakeholders to deliver consistent, ambitious and reliable plans.
  • Challenge and investigate tender management with the objective of identifying performance gaps, checking progress towards budget achievement and recommending gap closing actions
  • Engage with local marketing teams, with the objective to build insight into key business drivers and tactics, to identify opportunities and support solid business case preparation.
  • Analyzes the monthly balance sheet reconciliations as well as standardizes processes and protocols, leads internal control projects in the Marketing Company, aligned with Global and LatAm standards
  • Ensures professional management and supports requirements received from External and Internal Auditors
  • Pro-actively review and assess Business Performance Reporting landscape, driving changes and enhancement recommendations in collaboration with Cluster CFO / IFS  
  • Performs, leads and executes ad hoc projects in Finance Transformation initiatives in the CAMCAR

Requirements:

Advanced English and Spanish

Based in Costa Rica.

At least 5 year´s previous experience of FP&A processes, commercial budgeting and forecasting desirable, similar roles.

Studies in Economics; Business Administration or Industrial Engineering

University degree in Finance / Business / Economics

5 + year’s experience in financial management

Outstanding analytical skills and strong execution track records

Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel)

Developed commercial skills

At least 1 year in current role (internal candidates)
