The Director Customer Strategy West, I-O and EGFR (Immuno-Oncology (IO) and Targeted-therapy EGFR) will be responsible for leading commercialization and external engagement with key customers across the Lung Franchise portfolio, including durvalumab and osimertinib. This position will lead a team to work cross functionally to position AZ externally as a commercial leader in the treatment of lung cancer.

This position will report into the commercial lead for the Customer & Disease Strategy Team and will work in close partnership with product specific Brand Strategy Directors, New Product Planning, and Global colleagues. The West Director will lead and mentor a team of 3 field based Regional Marketers. In addition, this position will work collaboratively across Lung Cancer Franchise, Field Sales and other functions, and will play a critical role to ensure the franchise has a market leadership presence with healthcare providers and key accounts.

Key accountabilities:
Utilize input from external thought leaders to help build commercial strategies, through appropriate tactics (expert consultants, and 1:1 engagements).  Develop a clear, actionable customer strategy across multiple indications including identification and prioritization of market challenges/barriers. Special consideration of appropriate tactics to address these by utilizing multiple commercial and noncommercial channels. Develop a franchise strategic plan to maximize commercial presence at national and local scientific meetings with a common purpose and strategy across the Lung Franchise. Be a direct brand team link into key account teams to ensure all marketing resources are available and utilized appropriately for those team members who will execute customer engagement, promotional medical education, and congress plans. Partner with member of the Lung Franchise Leadership Team to manage partner agency relationships, workflow and related expense budgets as needed. Compliance with all external regulations and internal policies --and also ensure broader AZ team is compliant is critical. (i.e., Code of Conduct, US Policy Handbook, and other AZ Policies and SOP's).

Essential Requirements

·       Bachelor's Degree

·       10+ years of pharmaceutical or Healthcare experience in Marketing and or Sales Leadership

·       7+ years Oncology experience

·       Consistent results demonstrated over time in positions of increasing responsibility

Desirable Requirements

·       MBA in relevant field 

·       Comprehensive understanding of drug development and commercialization process

·       Exhibit high capability at working collaboratively, thinking strategically

·       Experience in Managed Markets promotions and/or strategy role

·       Experience in Insight/Market Research Sales and/or Sales Leadership experience

·       Lung Cancer Oncology experience is strongly preferred
