AstraZeneca Oncology – Redefining the treatment paradigm to eliminate cancer as a cause of death

As a Brand Lead, reporting to the Franchise Head in the Oncology portfolio, you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing the lives of cancer patients.

AstraZeneca Oncology is driven by the vision that for a patient with cancer, every day matters. We aspire to redefine the cancer-treatment paradigm and have a broad pipeline of next-generation medicines that are focused principally on lung, prostate, ovarian and haematological cancers. As well as other tumour types, these are being targeted through four key platforms - immunotherapy, the genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage repair, and antibody drug conjugates, underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.

Brand Lead, Oncology

In this role you will be providing the strategic direction and vision, leading cross-functional teams and developing and delivering marketing activities for one of our key oncology brands. This is an exciting brand which offers the opportunity to develop a portfolio within a brand, with the potential to drive significant growth and deliver access in line with the emerging data and science.

This brand is first in class and AstraZeneca is pioneering this treatment paradigm. We believe it is a crucial step forward in our aim of one day eliminating cancer as a cause of death.

As the Brand Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing on a robust commercial launch strategy for the brand across ovarian and other cancers
  • Developing and leading these strategies for the brand and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders including colleagues from the DDR portfolio, Sales, Medical, Diagnostics, Commercial Operations, Market Access and the Corporate Affairs team;
  • Managing the Life Cycle Management (LCM) plan for the brand while playing a key role in shaping the overall strategy and culture for the franchise;
  • External stakeholders are equally important and include Medical Oncologists, Gynae-oncologists, patient advocacy groups, PBAC & MSAC;
  • Leading the development of the HCP and consumer marketing strategies and tactics, including creation of the brand strategy plan
  • Monitoring and diagnosing brand performance, leading partnership efforts, informing registration & reimbursement recommendations, and sharing insights across markets;
  • This role will lead updates and develop and deliver key brand presentations to senior leadership and to the field organization.

Importantly, you will be making a valued difference to the lives of patients with ovarian and other cancers.

To be successful you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in life sciences, medical or pharmacy
  • Ten years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with five years’ of experience in Oncology marketing with additional diagnostic market experience highly regarded
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills and demonstrated project/team/cross-functional leadership
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and ability to self-manage
  • Proven experience with a broad base of external customers including HCPs, patients, prescribers, payors, providers
  • Experience in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
