Pricing Associate - Part Time

We currently have a permanent Part Time (0.5 FTE) opportunity in our Health Economics and Pricing team.  This is an opportunity for an experienced Pricing Associate to join a global pharmaceutical company and be part of some exciting pipeline of products.

The Pricing Associate should possess a solid understanding of market access and pricing. By managing processes, the role will ensure that AstraZeneca Australia remains compliant with local Government legislation and global pricing policies.

Reporting to the Director of Market Access and External Affairs this position is cross functional in nature and will work with the Health Economics and Pricing team, Business Unit Directors, and Finance. It is an integral part of the Australian business and requires working with global teams and management of AstraZeneca’s pricing list.

Within the role, new Government legislation will be interpreted and translated into methodology, business processes, and communicated within the business.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain AstraZeneca Australia’s price list
  • Ensure that current and proposed prices are entered into the global PRICE system
  • Review and support local business cases seeking global pricing approval
  • Contribute to pricing strategies that support PBS-listings
  • Monitor and communicate statutory price reductions and price disclosure
  • Monitor and track Deeds of Agreement
  • Involved with and check PBS Deed rebates
  • Monitor and report PBS supply issues
  • Communicate annual changes to co-payments, PBS mark-ups and dispensing fees
  • Where required, review pricing forms prepared by Health Economists
  • Submit PBS pricing changes for established medicines
  • Support other ad hoc pricing projects as required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a similar role
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience in working autonomously and building strong professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders 
  • Knowledge of the Australian reimbursement and/or environment
  • Knowledge of Australian Government pricing legislation

Key to your success will be your verbal and written communication skills, ability to collaborate at all levels across cross functional teams locally and globally and, a deep understanding of the Australian pricing and reimbursement environment.
