We currently have an opportunity for an Electrical Controls Engineer to join our Capital Projects team. Reporting to the Head of Capital Works, you will support the ongoing development of our manufacturing capability and play a critical, hands on role as a subject matter expert in projects associated with the installation, commissioning and validation of new equipment and machinery.

More specifically you will:

  • Plan, coordinate and undertake electrical, control system and infrastructure projects for our production plant and site facility, adhering to safety and quality requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate and undertake electrical, control systems and infrastructure modifications, following relevant procedures to ensure that equipment is maintained in its validated state.
  • Identify, plan and undertake projects to time and budget, including preparing validation protocols and documentation, and completion of validation activities.
  • Provide expert electrical engineering advice to other departments, for resolving complex technical issues with a focus on PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Identify, develop and implement policies, procedures and record keeping systems to meet operational, safety and quality requirements, and conforms to best practice.

Desired Experience

  • Ideally at least 5 years experience designing, developing and commissioning control systems in a pharmaceutical/FMCG/ highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering (Electrical/Mechatronic/Mechanical).
  • Experience and understanding of SCADA and PLC systems is essential with knowledge of Wonderware and Siemens systems highly desired
  • SQL database configuration and reporting is an advantage
  • Experience with GMP, System Engineering and or quality systems is highly desirable
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate business needs.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated technical experience with the documentation and validation of systems.
