We are looking for Manufacturing Excellence Professionals to play an integral part in developing a “world class” culture and strengthening the “ways of working”. The Manufacturing Excellence Professional will play a major role in driving the site towards excellence and as a result we are seeking highly experienced individuals with the right blend of leadership, management and “hands on” experience.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Site Manufacturing Excellence Lead and working in collaboration with the Manufacturing Excellence Practitioner, you will implement a culture of Manufacturing Excellence through the adoption of AstraZeneca Supply system (AZSS).
  • Provide manufacturing excellence expertise input to the development of local PET Manufacturing Excellence strategy and champion assigned work streams.
  • Influence “ways of working” through the implementation of standard practices through working directly with “process teams” and “leadership teams”.
  • Provide Manufacturing Excellence expertise and keep track of technological and best practice developments within/outside AstraZeneca and assessing their impact on the function.
  • Proactively identifies Improvements to Quality Management Systems working in partnership with the Quality Facilitator and ensures processes and activities do not compromise Safety, Health & Environment/Good Manufacturing Practice/Information Systems.
  • Attend and contribute to local PET Manufacturing Excellence, Six Sigma and other relevant networks.

Previous experience and qualifications:

  • Preferably educated to degree level in a scientific, technical or business discipline.
  • Recognised qualification in a continuous improvement discipline such as six sigma, lean or TPM.
  • Previous operational experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment leading and managing continuous improvements such as lean, six sigma, TQM.
  • You have the ability to influence peers and leadership teams through challenging the status-quo in a constructive and scientific manner
  • You take ownership for delivering agreed projects and tasks to a tight timeline.
  • You should be confident in holding others to account whilst also retaining responsibility to support others for the delivering desired outcomes and tasks on time
  • You will have the ability to coach, teach, facilitate and role model “ways of working” whilst also being prepared to “do”
