Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of bioassay (binding and cell-based) development in the areas of cell biology and molecular biology. This individual focuses principally on developing immune- and cell-based assays, and carrying out biological characterization and testing of biopharmaceutical products, such as therapeutic monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins. The successful candidate will play an important role on the development, optimization, qualification and tech transfer of a wide variety of binding and cell-based assays as well as in-process sample testing. This individual is expected to make detailed observations, analyze data, interpret results, as well as to conduct routine sample testing. Preparation of technical reports, protocols, and data summaries for presentation is required. The candidate will be expected to perform cell culture, cell banking, cell line development/characterization, immunoassay and potency assay development. The ability to prepare SOPs, to follow policies and regulations, and to perform lab equipment maintenance are critical. Presents findings at internal and/or external meetings, and serves as positive role model to other lab personnel. Good time management and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team-centered environment with outstanding multi-tasking skills are a must.

Essential Requirements

Education:  B.S or Masters in Biology, Bioengineering, or Molecular Biology

Experience:  BS degree with 2-7 years, MS degree with 0-5 years relevant experience. Prior experience with cell culture, cell line development, ELISA, immunoassay and cell-based assays development is preferred. Experience with GLP/GMP is a plus


  • The appropriate candidate should have extensive experience with mammalian cell culture, cell engineering and cell-based assays. Good hands-on skills and familiarity with analytical instrumentations is essential. Strong computer skills, data process and other scientific analysis skills are preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively contribute to project teams.
  • Excellent teamwork, good documentation and communication skills
  • Good multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills. This individual must have a high level of initiative, independence and the ability to execute lab work under minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment
