R&D Associate II

  • Laboratory-based position for performing ligand binding immunoassay methods on routine basis according to SOPs with minimal supervision and relatively high throughput, supporting non-clinical and clinical PK and ADA.
  • Has working knowledge of immunoassay ELISA methods / MSD a plus.
  • Applies knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (CFR Part 58) on a daily basis.
  • Identifies and develops solutions to assay-related problems.
  • Executes assay troubleshooting, optimization and validation experiments with general supervision, as requested.
  • Prepares data tables and figures and may prepare technical reports.
  • Completes appropriate documentation to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, and inventory forms.
  • Performs system suitability tests and maintains laboratory equipment according to SOPs.
  • Maintains reagent inventories in LIMS system.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots equipment problems with minimal supervision.
  • Participates in company meetings and discussions. 
  • Communicates issues/problems that may impact timelines and the accuracy or reliability of laboratory data.
  • Procures lab supplies and reagents as needed.
  • Receives, aliquots clinical samples with minimal supervision.
  • May participates in method training/transfer to internal or external laboratories.
  • Participates in new technology evaluations, transfers, validations and implementation as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences with 2-5 years of relevant industry experience, or Master of Science in Life Sciences with 0-2 years of relevant industry experience; experience in a GLP lab highly preferred
  • Ability to be a team player, work in a collaborative environment, and have good oral and written communication skills is a must

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Electro-Chemiluminescence (ECL) /MSD (Meso Scale Diagnostic) Assay experience  desired
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, SoftMax Pro.
  • LIMS database and Tecan Liquid Handling System experience a plus
