The GSC&S Network Strategy group drives the development of the overall Network strategy for AstraZeneca including evaluating the evolution of our global supply chain footprint and our sourcing strategy on whether to manufacture internally or use contract manufacturers. In addition, the group also helps evaluate technologies emerging from the pipeline and collaborate with PT&D, BPD, Global Engineering, TA teams (TA VPs and GSSDs) and key strategic sites to evolve our network to deliver those new technologies and products, as well as evaluating our mature portfolio and impact on network as volumes change and products are divested. Within this context, the Network Strategy Analytics Manager is responsible for managing analytical deliverables to inform network and platform strategies. The role will support in evaluating portfolio demand, capacity and cost modeling, business case scenario modeling, industry research, benchmarking and data management service on strategy initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead priority analytical deliverables in support of network and platform strategy initiatives
  • Manage data, analytics and process to publish Oncology and BioPharma pipeline evolution impact to Operations
  • Publish As-Is network baseline outputs to align organization across sites, volumes, technology, brands etc.
  • Actively collaborate with GNSDs, GSSDs, sites, finance leads and PT&D to advance analytical insights
  • Support long range capacity planning process
  • Support annual long-range business planning cycle
  • Support priority financial business case development for strategic capital investments across the network
  • Support business development teams on analyses to support deal negotiations
  • Support cost of goods analytics for platform and non-platform technologies
  • Support supply chain benchmarking of peer and CMO strategies
  • Develop tools, methodologies and capabilities to scale analytical deliverables
  • Identify and define improvement and simplification opportunities to drive accuracy, speed and efficiency
  • Prepare industry relevant leadership content for external conferences / councils
  • Demonstrate knowledge of end to end supply chain management and network strategy assessments
  • Manage confidential information appropriately and routinely
  • Keeps own knowledge of best practices current

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or IT
  • 3-5 years of work experience in relevant field
  • Exceptional analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities. Experience with large, complex data sets
  • Adept at using analytical tools; Advanced Excel and PowerPoint expert; Monte Carlo simulation experience
  • Prior experience in Consulting or Business Analysis
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management techniques
  • High initiative, teamwork and ability to work independently

Preferred Skills/Education:

  • Experience with data sciences and statistical analysis
  • Experience with AZ Operations reporting tools
  • Relevant Professional Certification
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context
  • Bio/ Small Molecule Manufacturing Experience
