As a key strategic initiative, in partnership with Biologics and Operations leadership and stakeholders, this role will co-create and lead the global strategy for Learning & Development within Biologics Operations. Ensuring close alignment with key partners across the Biologics region, leads the identification of training needs and aligns the Learning & Development program accordingly. This role will be an individual contributor or manage a small team either directly or indirectly as part of a regional process network. May undertake direct training on any subject.

Main Responsibilities


  • Partners with business leaders and regional and local learning practitioners to identify and analyze learning needs for Biologics Operations (including above-site groups) and develops a strategy to effectively and efficiently meet needs. Translates complex learning needs into a set of effective learning solutions
  • Directs the organization’s training and development activities to ensure that training activities are conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with the organization’s policies and standards
  • Develops an overall global learning portfolio and associated resource requirements for Biologics Operations. Partners with regional network ensuring regional and local learning plans meet the current and planned human resource and business requirements of the organization
  • Selects and manages ongoing relationships with external consultants and training providers to ensure that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
  • Keeps up-to-date on developments and innovations in training and education in industry and government education sectors so that the organization’s training activities remain current and relevant
  • Through regional process leadership, leads and develops a network of training professionals to ensure that the organization’s training and development strategy is implemented effectively and meets customer and stakeholder expectations
  • Defines and leads knowledge management approach in alignment with strategic initiative for High Performing Organization
  • Champions Continuous Improvement and standardization activities across Biologics Operations network
  • Represents the Biologics Operations region on Global Operations Learning & Development process network
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of performance solutions and learning experiences against business needs, provides metrics summarizing effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement to key stakeholders
  • Partners with HR to identify workforce capability needs and associated organizational development strategy



  • Educated to University degree level
  • 7-10+ years’ experience
  • Instructional design experience
  • Learning Management System experience
  • Global project or program management experience
  • Engaging, dynamic, proactive individual with advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels and across businesses
  • Outstanding ability to partner, influence, communicate, and work effectively with senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Ability to independently develop complex performance solutions and experiences based on knowledge of learning methodologies, cognitive science, user-centered design research, adult learning requirements, needs assessment, and evaluation


  • Master’s Degree or professional certification preferred
