The Financial Analytics Lead IVS, is an integral member of their respective Market Access and Pricing team. In this role, you are primarily accountable for developing global financial and economic analyses needed to implement outcomes-based agreements with payers. We are looking for Financial Analytics Leads for each of our therapeutic areas – Oncology, Cardiovascular Renal Metabolism (CVRM) and Respiratory. Roles are available across our 3 hub locations - Gaithersburg, MD; Cambridge, UK; Gothenburg, Sweden.

As the Financial Analytics Lead, IVS, you will be a quantitative content expert for the brands and disease areas they represent. In this role you will be the champion for all Franchise IVS areas to ensure that tangible, compelling quantified financial IVS constructs are aligned to market expectations, that they satisfy all AZ legal & compliance requirements, and that deliverables reflect the necessary innovation and creativity to be best-in-class in meeting the challenges of a rapidly evolving global payer landscape.

As core member of a Global IVS Working Group, and other Global Teams as needed, the Financial Analytics Lead will be accountable for evaluating the financial aspects of IVS constructs, including valuation of the construct, identification of risks and opportunities. Estimating the impact of IVS constructs on a range of metrics (e.g. revenue, list price, net price, IRP risks) will be a critical aspect of the role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Core member of Global IVS working group, which includes global cross-functional members and representation from key markets
  • Developing a brand-specific and/or disease area financial/analytic construct module, which in collaboration with Payer Analytics Leads, will be integrated into a Global IVS Frameworks Module (includes clinical and health-care outcome constructs).
  • Collaborate with Pricing and Market Access Directors to ensure the P&MA assumptions included in IVS constructs are consistent with assumptions in other brand financial analyses
  • Responsible for evaluating financial framework options
  • Support development of mitigation plans that support markets implementing IVS constructs
  • Evaluate financial aspects of market business cases prior to implementation of IVS contracts
  • Work with Global Analytics & Insights and Finance on robust forecasting for IVS options
  • Work with finance to develop modelling to accrue for IVS in long range planning and other forecasts
  • Deliver IVS Framework Module (modelling clinical and financial constructs) to markets and GPI to support business case development and evaluation
  • Think more broadly than the brand/disease are to identify innovative solutions and share best practices
  • Support the required payer insights and research to ensure robust and validated constructs
  • As required by the business, ensure effective budget planning and secure resources to enable the financial elements IVS Frameworks
  • Support key markets in negotiations with reimbursement authorities

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, business, quantitative disciplines or economics.
  • Solid experience in pricing and market access from either industry or consulting.
  • In-depth expert knowledge and technical capability in pricing and market access, forecasting, financial model development and other analytical techniques required to support payer needs.
  • Experience modelling and analysing financial aspects of innovative outcomes based or financial based agreements
  • In-depth expert knowledge and technical capability in pricing and market access, particularly pricing implementation

Desirable Requirements

  • Payer launch experience at a local or global level.
  • Experience working with clinicians, pharmacists and payers, e.g. through working with local payers in EU or commercial customers in the US
  • Relevant drug development and/or commercialization experience within the pharmaceutical/medical industry
