As a Validation Technician in Frederick, MD, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. Main Responsibilities

Scope:

  • Conducts the validation plans and processes for facilities, laboratory equipment, utility systems and process equipment.
  • Writes reports that reflect the validation was performed.
  • Write validation protocols and reports
  • Perform validation activities described in validation protocols including thermal studies, cleaning, shipping, computer systems, equipment and utilities qualification and/or validation
  • Experience with autoclave sterilization validation desirable
  • Proficiency in the use of the Kaye Validator or equivalent desirable
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of validation requirements, practices, and procedures
  • Works with validation and metrology contractors when required
  • Interacts with manufacturing sciences and facilities / engineering departments to facilitate protocol execution as necessary
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Able to read P&ID, Isometric and “As Built” drawings
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor and other departments workload, priorities, and issues to maintain validation schedule

Some experience in several of these areas:

  • FAT / SAT experience with equipment and utilities
  • Setting validation specifications for purchasing capital equipment
  • Project management experience with facilities upgrades
  • Experience performing IQ/OQ/PQ on various types of equipment/systems
  • Cleaning and Sterilization Qualification/Validation experience is preferred

Knowledge:

  • Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.

Problem Solving:

  • Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Freedom to Act:

  • Works under general supervision.  Follows established procedures.  Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy

Impact:

  • Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. 
  • Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources.

Interpersonal Communication:

  • Primarily internal company contacts.  Infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.

Education:

  • Bachelors required: Engineering or Technical Field Preferred

Experience:

  • 0-3 years of experience

Preferred:

  • Cleaning and Sterilization Qualification/Validation experience is preferred
