As a Validation Associate Scientist in Frederick, MD, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. Main Responsibilities


Areas of responsibility include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and approving validation protocols and reports.
  • Performing validation activities described in validation protocols including thermal studies, cleaning, shipping, computerized systems, equipment and utilities qualification and/or validation.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of validation requirements, practices, and procedures.
  • Interacting with cross-functional departments, including validation consultants, to facilitate protocol execution as necessary.
  • Maintaining validation testing systems and equipment.
  • Communicating workload, priorities, and issues to maintain validation schedule


  • Must be able to understand and apply validation principles, theories, and concepts. Must practice good technical writing skills. Should have experience in computer systems validation. General knowledge of other related disciplines such as Cleaning and Sterility Validation, and Facilities/Utilities/Equipment Qualification is preferred

Problem Solving

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Freedom to Act:

  • Works under only general direction.  Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.  Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy, in meeting objectives.


  • Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.  Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in program delays.

Interpersonal Communication:

  • Frequent inter-organizational contacts.  Represents the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.


  • Bachelors required:  Engineering or Technical Field Preferred


  • 3-5 years experience required
