A new and exciting Global Meetings and Events (GME) team is currently being formed within the Global Business Services (GBS) organization. This team will be responsible for implementing and executing a global Strategic Meetings Management Program (SMMP) across Commercial, Enabling Units and Science Units.

As the GME Training and Change Management Specialist, you will be responsible for leading Training and Change Management for the new GME Service to drive best-in-class meeting and events planning services that are cost effective and deliver value to AstraZeneca.  As part of our GME Operations Team, you will have responsibility to create, update, track, and deliver training and change management to a global audience, including internal team members, external partners, and internal market stakeholders.  Initially, you will focused on establishing a new service in the US, UK, Australia, and for our Global Congress team, and then expand into optimizing the services.  Other markets will be deployed in future waves.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Support initial implementation and next waves of market and regional deployment of the SMMP until globally deployed through close collaboration with IT, GME Regional Directors, GME Operations Team, external partners, and in-market stakeholders
  • Collaborate with implementation team to create highly-engaging training materials for GME Service to deliver to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct primarily web-based / virtual training, and in-person when appropriate
  • Collect feedback from training experiences to improve future training curriculum
  • Assess and develop updates to training and change management materials based on learnings from each deployment wave and on an ongoing basis when the service enters steady state
  • Develop and deliver new or updated training to meet new business processes and tool changes
  • Execute change management plan and materials for the remaining deployment waves to ensure consistent messaging
  • Assess and develop the ongoing change management and communication plan for the GME service.  Including materials for updates to processes and tools, and other communications as needed by the GME Service.  Partner with key areas across the GME service to ensure there is one cohesive plan for the GME service offering
  • Monitoring and maintenance of training certifications for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with System Administrator and Meeting Managers to ensure all operational SOP’s are kept current
  • All of the above should be managed with a concentration on consistency across geographical markets with an ability to accommodate regional variances when justified

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proven experience developing and delivering training and change management initiatives
  • Experience delivering web-based / virtual training
  • Experience with adult learning methodologies and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Previous experience working across a geographically diverse team and stakeholders
  • Ability to travel globally as required (limited to 10%)


  • Pharmaceutical experience; or other highly-regulated environment
  • Experience with meeting industry technology (Cvent, StarCite), or sales automation / CRM
  • Meeting management and/or Travel industry experience
  • Multi-lingual a plus
