The Calibration Technician Performs calibrations following approved requirements. Ensures that measurement systems meet accuracy and precision requirements and maintains calibration methodologies, systems, and practices. Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms. Redesigns or adjusts measurement capability to minimize errors.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ethical conduct and compliance.
  • Escalates quality issues or potential non-compliance to Metrology Management.
  • Performs and documents calibration testing in compliance with cGMP and current safety regulations.
  • Records, reviews and reports calibration results and documentation from vendor-performed (off-site) calibrations.
  • Prepares documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Documents and investigates calibration deviations and out of tolerance events.
  • Evaluates systems and instrumentation that measure characteristics of objects, substances, or phenomena (such as length, mass, time, temperature, pressure, electric current, luminous intensity) using the derived units of physical or chemical measurement.
  • Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms.
  • Adjusts measurement capability to minimize errors.
  • Performs equipment troubleshooting and repair.

Essential Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Electronics or Metrology, three years’ professional experience in metrology accepted in lieu of Associate Degree.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication in English.
  • Must be familiar with and competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge in GMP regulations applicable to where the product is market.
  • Calibration Technician Certification preferred.
