At AstraZeneca, we are seeking an EU Oncology Digital & Innovation Director to join us in Zug, Switzerland and will be a key member of the Global Commercial Innovation, Digital and Strategy team, and report to the VP, Global Head Commercial Innovation, Digital & Data Strategy and is a daily business partner to the Oncology Leadership Team.

You are the commercial oncology and digital expert leading a team of strategic analysts and executing the oncology digital strategy, developing and implementing an emerging capability to deliver the infrastructure needed and the execution of complex, actionable, big-data analytics that support strategic, closed-loop marketing efforts (Customer, Consumer & Digital) across EU Oncology Portfolio (Women’s Franchise, IO Franchise, Lung Franchise).

As the EU Digital & Innovation Director, you will work across our global commercial oncology franchises seeking to understanding how changing customer needs directly affect the future value they can create — e.g., what kinds of products and services maximize revenues. You will be able to provide guidance and recommendations on the changing environment by aligning with other partners.

Core Job Responsibilities:

You are expected to have strong analytical and critical thinking skills to development meaningful strategy and communication channels based on the EU Oncology commercial strategy across 3 franchises. Keys to success in this position are superlative communication, consultative and influencing skills predicated on a strong foundation of data analysis proficiency, clinical acumen, unconventional marketing strategy & new technologies like Big data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning etc.

Required Experience:

·Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, MBA preferred

  • Minimum 10+ years pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, Oncology experience required
  • Experience implementing technology platforms with multiple data sources
  • Ability to deeply assess data various data sources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and gaps
  • Ability to collaborate with both application/database developers and sales/marketing to ensure business needs are translated into easy to use and relevant applications
  • Data source knowledge: IMS, Symphony, FlatIron, or other claims or EMR based data

Skills and Competencies:

  • Apply various primary research techniques to inform strategy in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Able to pull together insights from many sources and develop strategic guidance for brand teams that result in a business decision or action
  • Experience with common statistical analysis and techniques
  • Strong business and marketing acumen and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think strategically about integrating Big Data into commercial execution in industry.
  • Coordinate the appropriate analytical expertise necessary to address a variety of different business issues
  • 3-5 years of primary market research preferred
  • Analytical experience applying various primary research techniques and secondary analysis to inform business decisions preferred
  • Proven ability to influence laterally and vertically
  • consultative background preferred
