AstraZeneca’s Finance function is continuing its transformation journey with the objective of delivering excellence in financial operations. Whilst a dedicated Finance transformation programme is under way, the Contract To Cash (“C2C”) team is highly involved to ensure we continue to move in the right direction. This role reports to the C2C Global Process Delivery Director (“GPDD”).

This is an exciting maternity cover opportunity within our C2C Business. The role of Global C2C Change Lead is a critical one within AZ, strong business partnerships with the wider Finance teams and Operations is critical to success. You will be tasked with focusing on excellence in execution, whilst maintaining a strong customer and cash flow focus. The role is accountable for challenging and ensuring the solutions being presented by the impending Business projects are aligned to the Global C2C standard processes. As the successful role holder, you will work alongside the Global Process Owner (GPO), Global Process Delivery Director (GPDD) and the wider GFS delivery teams, to ensure that change impacting GFS C2C is fit for purpose for BAU operation. This covers c 60 MC’s and hubs covering all SET areas and handled regionally.

The applicant will influence process transformation to ensure that the BAU knowledge is included within future design plans and effective delivery. You will provide oversight of issue resolution around project change and ensure issues are addressed and considered consistently across region and delivery centre. The C2C Change Lead will have a deep understanding of the technical issues involved in the C2C process area, to enable productive collaboration across the internal and outsourced organisation to ensure continuity of service and minimal impact resulting from change; working closely with the three regions and our outsource partners Genpact, to ensure testing is robust, SOP’s are maintained and that the receiving teams are fully trained and up to speed with the changes.

Main duties and responsibilities

The role holder will:

  • Represent GFS C2C and act as a key Partner on the 3 in flight ERP projects: Brexit 2 TFT (Transfer of Financial Title), ICON-EU SAP Consolidation and One Data MCH (Material Code Harmonisation).
  • Lead 4 SME’s and work alongside the broader ERP Finance Process Champions, to ensure all ERP projects align to the C2C global standard processes, vision and business strategy; focusing on true business value, whilst preventing a negative impact to the end Customer/Patient and AstraZeneca’s cash flow
  • Stand on the steering committee for the CEE and Exports Customer Order Portal projects, provide support and guidance to the core Project Manager and 2 SME’s
  • Lead and provide mentoring with the C2C Customer Engagement SME; responsible for working with the Global C2C Operations teams, focused on ensuring all Market issues are timely addressed and resolved, whilst identifying CI opportunities raised by C2C Operations teams and the Markets

Essential requirements

  • You will have End to End C2C process expertise
  • You will be an ambitious, hardworking and self-motivated qualified accountant, with the capability to build strong internal and external partnerships
  • You will have prior experience in leading and motivating teams through periods of high change
  • You will have experience of effectively operating in a global organisation with multiple delivery teams and partners.
  • You will have experience of implementing significant business change across different national and business boundaries
  • You will have a track record of driving simplification & continuous improvement across key business processes
  • You will have gained the ability to remain objective & independent whilst under pressure
  • You will have previous experience of driving issue resolution across complex system & process landscapes


  • Deep understanding of SAP and credit management
  • Experience of working with Shared Service Centres and / or Business Process Outsourcing partners
  • Excellent spoken and written English and strong communication and influencing skills across all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues in a complex system and process landscape Qualification in Lean / SixSigma would be useful
