Global External Sourcing (GES) is accountable for the sourcing and supply of externally manufactured products into the AstraZeneca network. We are organised in a Process Centric Organisation (PCO) with two main processes; Supply to Customer and Establish New Supply to Customer, with a high focus on multi-functional team work.

As the Analytics & Insights Lead you will deliver and develop reliable business intelligence and data analysis services which enable data-driven decision making throughout the GES organization.

You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the data management and reporting architecture in partnership with IT which provide solutions that ensure both internal and external data sources can be used effectively for analytics purposes to provide key reports that track KPI performance in the organisation

You will also support business insight through the manipulation and analysis of data using statistical, machine learning and / or AI methodologies. This will include manipulating and preparing data (structured and unstructured) prior to analysis, the development of advanced modelling algorithms, the presentation of data to help impart insight as well as the ability to articulate the implication of such insight.

You will also contribute to developing enablers such as playbooks, enabling tools and components engaging directly with business users to understand the business problem and develop the appropriate reporting and analytics strategy.

This is an exciting role which allows you to develop, and apply your knowledge and awareness of trends, best practice and innovation in Analytics & data insights approaches to business.

Key accountabilities:

In this role, you will develop the Analytics & Insights plan by defining common objectives and strategies across the organisation to ensure data is used effectively and efficiently in support of GES strategy and goals. This will involve you analysing, evaluating and reporting performance across GES and providing analytical support within the Function.

You will also design and implement data engineering methods and processes to collect data from inside and outside of GES by building data models, policies, and standards that define and govern the type of data collected, how it is used, stored, managed, and integrated within GES reporting and analysis activities.

You will support KPI improvement through exploring and understanding the Root Causes of variances, and exploring opportunities to improve them. You will also manage a set of KPIs for GES and develop a roadmap to enhance them. You will also provide data analysis and scenario modelling to inform strategic and business decision making.

As part of the role you will represent GES on data management review forums and partner with IT and the Global Business Process Management team for cross team and systems related topics.

Essential requirements:

  • Relevant Bachelors or master’s degree (e.g. Statistics, Economics, Math, Finance), equivalent experience will be taken into account
  • Strong MS Office, Business Intelligence experience and database knowledge
  • Proficient experience in Data Engineering / Architecture experience with some technical leadership
  • Experience in Analytics, Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Finance
  • Experience of Data Science Modelling, Visualisation, Data Manipulation and reporting
  • Experience with SC and Procurement systems i.e. SAP ERP, Ariba

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience with analytical software and dashboarding tools e.g. SAP Analytics in the Cloud, Qlik etc
