Overview

At AstraZeneca Japan, we have Commercial, R&D and Operations across the country. Our business focuses mainly on Oncology, Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases, Gastrointestinal, and Respiratory. Together, we’re passionate about improving lives for the whole of Japan, and beyond.

Here, we specialise in automated translation systems using state-of-the-art AI translation engines in the field of bilingual data. It’s important work that sees us positively challenged every day. The development of a highly accurate automatic translation system specifically for the pharmaceutical field makes it possible to streamline translation work and submit new drugs and drug applications more quickly.

Did you know? We received the coveted British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ’s) 2018 Company of the Year trophy for bringing seven innovative treatments to the Japanese market in a single year.

Our sites

Osaka

Osaka is our head office and is a calm environment where colleagues like you can focus on projects and collaborate effectively in eco-friendly spaces designed to get the best out of your work.

Tokyo

Our Tokyo branch office is in Marunouchi and is the centre of the business district. It’s a convenient location adjacent to the largest station in Japan. Along with the perks of being located in one of Tokyo’s most innovative areas, the office also offers many other benefits for our colleagues. With massage rooms and relaxation areas, this is a haven for employees looking to take some time for themselves before sharing great ideas in a meeting or developing business strategies in a fast-paced discussion.

We run a number of I&D initiatives and seminars which are open to all employees. We also have an employee resource group “Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI)” launched in 2014. Since then, we have offered projects aimed at finding self-help solutions and gaining confidence in demonstrating leadership, and leadership/career development related seminars. It is run by volunteer employees and everyone is welcome to join events or join as a committee member.
